Channel 7 Digital Reception
I’ve always been a fan of Channel 7 but since going digital I can no longer watch it.
I live in Lara and with the analogue signal I had perfect reception on every channel except the ABC.
Since the inception of the digital signal I can no longer watch 7, nor can I watch 72.
My set top box picks up every channel (including ABC) perfectly but there is constant pixilisation and sound cut out when I watch Channel 7.
I have now set up Foxtel with a digital tv set and still, Channel 7 programs are so unreliable that I have had to switch from Channel 7′s 6 o’clock news (which I’ve watched for decades) to Channel 9. Certainly the signal is better than the set top box but still not as good as Channel 7′s competitors.
I can only conclude that the problem is at the Channel 7 end not mine since I have no problems with other networks.
I live at Clifton Springs on the Bellarine Peninsula, on top of a hill with views over Port Phillip Bay to Melbourne.
We too have changed to digital and beside having new TVs, had a new digital antenna installed. In short, we did all available to make reception possible.
Now during each evening after about 6pm and if there is any problems with weather during the day we receive at best a very broken picture and no sound, to at worst, the “No signal” message on the screen. In other words Channel 7′s three channels are unwatchable. No footy….and no other programs.
A repeater on Mt Bellarine, the highest point of the Peninsula and the present site of a radio tower and firefighting tower would certainly be suitable and it would certainly ease the grief of the residents.

LikeDislikeWe live at Rosebud, on the Mornington Peninsula and whenever there is a storm or heavy rain, we lose Channel 7 Digital (plus 7two & 7mate).
Total loss of signal. Sometimes the signal does not return until the next day or until I re-scan all channels. This applies to TV, both PVR’s & DVD recorder player. The only way to watch your channel is on analogue.
Whats going to happen when analogue is turned off?

There are shocking problems with reception of all Channels of the 7 network in the Bayside area of Melbourne on digital tv.
I googled the problem, and someone said they have reported it, and were given a reply that it is their antenna, and not a broadcasting problem, however, this is not just my tv.
I have a big antenna on the roof, and it picks up everything fine, until the last few months, and the other is located on the 2nd level roof, for the back rooms, and it has the exact same problem.
This isn’t just in my house however as I had suspected originally, this is happening to literally everyone I know who lives in the bayside area.
It is reaching the point that anything we would like to watch, is simply becoming unwatchable, as the picture quality is so bad and has so much interference, but the sounds that emit from the speakers are horrible, and certainly do not sound good for the speakers either.
The suburbs that I have friends who are affected living in are: Brighton, Brighton East, Hampton, Sandringham, Highett, Cheltenham, Beaumaris, Black Rock, Mentone, Ormond, Malvern East, Canterbury, Bentleigh, Gardenvale, and the list can go on, but there is no point.
There are shows that I would like to watch, as well as the news, but it is too much of a problem that I, and many others are simply switching off, or switching channels, and I don’t think that is a good thing considering your station does provide a high level of quality entertainment, so it would be a shame if no one were to check the problem and determine how to resolve it.

LikeDislikeMy home town of Whittlesea has terrible reception !! I have a very good digital HD tuner and an aerial that is only about 1 year old. My brother lives in a different area of Whittlesea in a new house and his reception is just as bad. It seems to be a lot worse when it is raining outside or bad weather nearby. All the other channels are perfect !!! Right at the moment i am trying to watch the footy and it is impossible to watch !!! That is why I decided to write this email !!! Obviously you guys use a different tower to all the other channels – hopefully you dont know about this problem and there is something you can do to fix it !!
Analogue channel 7 was always a bit harder to pick up than the other channels here but now it is digital it is impossible to watch when reception is not as good !!

LikeDislikeWe live in Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula. Up until two weeks ago we had perfect reception on all digital channels. In the last two weeks cChannel 7 has become unwatchable. All other channels are unchanged, reception is perfect with now pixelation. Our neighbours report the same story. We had a digital antenna installed a few years ago and are in the highest part of Ocean Grove. Analogue reception is fine.
This needs fixing as all my wife’s favourite shows are on Channel 7.

LikeDislikeWe have the same problem with channel 7 – and only channel 7. We’ve had no satisfactory answer from foxtel. They sent us a widget which seemed to resolve the problem of pixelation for a few days – but alas, the problem the returned. We live in Croydon nth. Strangely enough, it seems to resolve itself – only to return a week or so later.

LikeDislikeDuring Wimbledon (sun 26th June) our channel 72 reception died and hasn’t come back. Now we just see a black/blank screen – no pixelation – nothing. All other digital 7 channels are unaffected, and we get fairly good reception on all other digital channels. I live in Tieri, a town in Central Queensland. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
