Having recently bought a Digital Set-Top Box, I was saddened to find it did not pick up Channel 31.

I've since heard that Channel 31 will not be issued with a digital license, thus essentially starving a great multicultural and independent channel of a large slice of their audience. Isn't it hard enough to find locally-produced entertainment without further crippling attempts?

Many of today's stars found their start on Channel 31, graduating from UC31: Rove McManus and Hamish and Andy. Vasilli Kanidiadis' show, Vasilli's Garden, which has gained cult status has been picked up by SBS. Jo Stanley. John Safran. Corinne Grant. Peter Hellier.

Who knows how many future entertainers we're missing out on.
