Default Vancouver 2010

The coverage of Vancouver Olympics has been really poor.
3hrs each day of live coverage... is that all????????
Then all we get to see it highlights, late at night!?
C'mon, if you are gonna broadcast the Olympics, atleast do it properly. I'm very dissapointed.

Thumbs down Channel 9's Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010

Whilst I have little doubt that you do not care, I also add my voice to the chorus of disapproval of Maguire's role at Vancouver.

Last night, I finally had enough of him such that I turned your station off. Then, I thought, I would call Foxtel to enquire whether it had a reduced subscription rate for the remainder of the Games. I advised that my enquiry was consequential upon having had enough of Maguire. The lady told me that I was the seventh such call she had during the evening !!!

Clearly, there is a message here !

Inter alia, Maguire needs to understand,
1. He is not supposed to be the funny man ! He fails;
2. Collingwood has no relevance whatsoever to the Olympics and should not even be mentioned; he is clearly too immature to understand that.
3. It is not his role to congratulate his fellow commentators on essentially doing the work thay are paid to do and are privileged to witness ! If corporate congratulations are required, it is a private matter !

Whilst before the Games, I thought that Channel Nine's coverage would be sufficient, you have now lost me and I have subscribed to Foxtel's comprehensive coverage.

Thumbs down Eddie McGuire and Mick Molloy ruining Vancouver 2010!

Can you please curb the hosting / commentary style of Eddie McGuire and Mick Molloy at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games.

This is a significant, prestigious and time honoured event. They are bringing the athletes, Games and sports down to such a gutter level. Eddie has no knowledge of the sports. Rather than openly admit this, he could perhaps do some research.

Why are we interested in seeing Mick Molloy trying to play ice hockey against some kids when we have the very best athletes in the world competing in this event? An interview with one of these athletes would be more intereseting.

I'd appreciate if they didn't have to bring out their own homophobic tendancies in their references to male figure skaters (particularly Johny Weir)

Eddie's interview with Katarina Witt was akin to a school boy drooling over a pretty girl.

I love the Olympic Games but am finding this telecast very hard to watch. Eddie is more suited to the football locker room than hosting the Olympic Games.

Ken Suttcliffe should be doing the evening hosting. He is more talented, has more knowledge and more respect for the Games and the events and won't bring the Games down to pub level.

STOP Ruining the Games. Please get Eddie off.

Thumbs down Channel 9's Vancouver Winter Olympics coverage

I am very disppointed with the breadth of the content in Channel 9's coverage of the Winter Olympics. We aork during the day so ar constrrained in our viewing to the highlights shown in the evening and, tonight the coverage from 7:30 onwards. Thus these comments are related to the coverage in those time slots.

The inclusion of interviews with the sports people and ex- sports people may be interesting but the balance with the acrtual sport coverage is skewed away from the sports themselves. The Michael Phelps interview - why?

The coverage is largely of Australians, there are other countries competing one can only assume, or highlights of the last run of the Gold medalist. The graphics of vancouver and Whistler though interesting, again, are shown at the expense of the sport.

Frankly, the lack of actual sport coverage during the screening of the winter Olympics means I am too bored to watch any of it.

What are you thinking of the Winter sports fans ?

Thumbs down Woeful Olympics telecast with woeful McGuire

This is the first time I have ever taken the time to make a comment pertaining to a television station or programme/s. But having endured 2 to 3 hours each night of the most woeful coverage of any event, I have to say that Ch 9's telecast of the Winter Olympics is bloody woeful.

Selecting Eddie McGuire to head the 'Team', demonstrates one of two things IMHO. Either the Ch 9 brainstrust couldn't/didn't commit to a sincere effort to televising this once in 4 years event, or Ch 9 lacks depth in professional presenters.

In this case I feel the latter applies when also reflecting upon another woeful presenter, Mark Taylor. I have never heard anyone gabble on and on and on about nothing for no reason but to hear himself. But I digress.

I refuse to pay for a cable coverage for these Olympics for I am sure that it is a strategy being employed to drive people to outlay more money and swell the coffers of PBL. Simply throw up a crap Free to Air presentation to fill airtime and drive the audience to cable.

For no other reason could I justify such a substandard telecast, using substandard presenters as a vehicle to self-promote the channel at the scarifice of televising the event.

BLOODY WOEFUL STANDARD! And for God's sake (no the viewers sake) get rid of that pretentious, self-opinionated and over exposed Eddie McGuire. I've seen people with more talent sweeping streets.
